  • Lakeside Palette Club

Introduction to the Lakeside Palette Club The Lakeside Palette Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting artists and their work in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. We are part of the St. Clair Shores Parks and Recreation Department. The Club was founded in 1947 and has been continuously active since. See the newsletter for meeting dates and locations. We are also live-streaming our meetings online through Zoom. At the monthly meetings we discuss club business and provide either a demonstration by an artist in any of the different medias - pen and ink, oil and acrylic, watercolor, pastel, etc, and twice a year we have a judge visit to critique member paintings. There also is time at the meetings for refreshments and to socialize and learn what is happening in the various nearby communities, and opportunities of where and when to display members' art. The club also partners with different venues in SCS and nearby communities to display our art to the public - restaurants, city buildings, etc... We also sponsor two Art shows each year for members, one in the Fall, and one in the Spring. We have "studio painting" every Tuesday from 11-3 at North Lake High School where our artists gather to paint, share tips and socialize. During the summer we add a Saturday studio at Blossom Heath Beach House East Room from 11-3. Also during the summer, the club hosts paint-outs at nearby parks and private homes.
