Jo Workshop (18+ years)Adult EnrichmentSelf Reflection through working with the Jo We will begin by introducing you to six fundamental movements utilizing the Jo, a traditional wooden staff rooted in the principles of Aikido. Through guided instruction, you'll familiarize yourself with these movements, allowing ample time for personal exploration and embodiment. Our facilitators will offer support and guidance as you delve into self-reflection, encouraging you to observe how you navigate the sequence and what insights emerge. Transitioning into paired exercises, you'll have the opportunity to observe and be observed, gaining valuable insights into your interpersonal dynamics and how you present yourself to others. This phase offers a unique perspective on your interactions, shedding light on patterns and tendencies that may otherwise go unnoticed. As we progress into small group activities, you'll explore the dynamics that arise when multiple individuals are involved. Together, we'll investigate challenges that may surface and delve into the art of communication and assertiveness. Can you advocate for your needs? Are you able to adapt and collaborate effectively? Led by Erica Bretz of Nature’s Wisdom and Kelly and Tom Zalewski of Oasis Well Being, this event will take place outdoors, fostering a connection with nature as we deepen our connection with ourselves and others. Hosted in collaboration with GVST Wellness and LakeShore, this transformative workshop invites participants aged 18 and above to embark on a journey of self-discovery. Please bring along a blanket, yoga mat, towel, or chair for the initial demonstration and closing discussion. Space is limited to ensure an intimate and enriching experience. Join us on this path of self-discovery and growth, where each step brings you closer to a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.
