After a stop for some lunch on our own, we will visit the Sturgeon Point Lighthouse and Museum. We will have some time here to explore this historic 70-foot, 1800’s era lighthouse. The lighthouse also serves as a Maritime museum. Maritime artifacts and a one-room schoolhouse are also on site. Then we will make our way over to Thunder Bay Resort. Named by USA Today as one of the Top ten sleigh/carriage rides in the entire United States, this is an experience filled with all the best of Northern Michigan! We will check into our lodge style accommodations before beginning our wonderful evening. We will be treated to an Elk viewing carriage ride through the wooded resort. The ride will take us onto the Elk Preserve to the Elk Antler Log Cabin is evening destination, filled with antiques, where we will have scrumptious five-course meal and wine tasting. Following dinner, we will return to our accommodations for the remainder of the evening.

Day 2 We will enjoy an included breakfast before heading out for our second day of adventure. Our first stop is the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, where we will board our glass bottom boat to explore some shipwrecks out on Lake Huron. Our guided tour will narrate some of the most famous shipwrecks of this area. After lunch on our own in downtown Alpena, we will tour the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center where we will continue our education on land. We will make a final stop at the Cheese Haus in Pinconning for some shopping time before heading home.
