Day 1 Our journey begins by heading North through the beautiful Michigan autumn landscape. Rest stops and a lunch stop on our own are made for comfort and convenience. After we cross the “Mighty Mac," our first stop is Whitefish Point and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. The museum has become one of Michigan’s most popular destinations where guests learn about the perils of maritime transport on the Great Lakes like the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. See the Historic Whitefish Point Light Station and take a stroll on Lake Superior’s shore and beautiful rocky beach. Following our visit, we will have an included dinner at the beautiful Timber Charlie’s, a local delight. After an incredible meal, we check into our hotel in Newberry, MI.

Day 2 Breakfast is included this morning before departing for Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Upon arrival, we will meet our guide who will take us on a 45 minute tour to the Upper Falls. The Upper Falls are the largest waterfall east of the Mississippi with a drop of nearly 50 feet and 200 feet across. After that we will have time to hit the gift shop and lunch on our own before departing for Munising. This afternoon, we board a 2-1/2 hour cruise of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The lakeshore offers towering multicolored sandstone cliffs, mile-long sparkling beach strands, dashing water falls, a huge area of sand dunes and more. See such highlights as Miner’s Castle, Colored Caves, Indian Head and Chapel Rock. Following our cruise, we have an included dinner at a local restaurant before checking into our hotel for the evening.

Day 3 Another included breakfast greets us this morning before departing for the Keweenaw Peninsula and Copper Country. We will pick up our step-on-guide and embark on a full day tour of the area including the Mineral Museum and Jampot. We will travel through Houghton, Hancock, Calumet, Eagle River, Copper Harbor and Brockway Mountain Drive. The Keweenaw Peninsula is the northernmost part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It projects into Lake Superior and was the site of the first copper boom in the United States. Brockway Mountain Drive runs along the ridge of Brockway Mountain on the Keweenaw Fault. Upon reaching the top of the mountain, we are greeted by a full panoramic view of the surrounding area including Lake Superior, Copper Harbor, Eagle Harbor and the surrounding lakes and forests. Lunch is on our own at a local restaurant. This evening we check into our hotel in Houghton, home for the next night. Dinner is included this evening at a charming restaurant.

Day 4 Following our included breakfast this morning, we depart for Lake of the Clouds. Surrounded by the silhouettes of the ancient Porcupine Mountains, the Lake of the Clouds is a blue gem amid the thick forests and one of the most photographed features in the area. We will stop at Bond Falls, a beautiful water fall located along the Ontonagon River. Our next stop is the beautiful Pine Mountain Ski & Golf Resort, where we will enjoy an included lunch and visit the UP Sports Hall of fame! After lunch we will stop for a photo opportunity before departing for the Iron Mountain Iron Mine. We will travel 2,600 feet through drifts and tunnels to 400 feet below the earth’s surface where we see amazing rock formations and large underground lighted caverns. The mine operated for 68 years and produced tons of iron ore for the great steel mills of the Midwest. This afternoon, we check into Island Resort & Casino where we will spend the remainder of our evening. Whether it's championship golf, Vegas-style gaming or the Drift Spa, the total experience is waiting for you! * Everyone will receive a $20 food voucher good at any of the 6 delicious dining options!

Day 5 A final day begins with a stop at Kitch-iti-kipi, Michigan’s largest natural freshwater spring. Measuring two hundred feet across and forty feet deep, over 10,000 gallons of water per minute gush from the spring’s fissures in the underlying limestone. We’ll see this amazing attraction up close aboard an observation raft offering excellent views of the crystal clear waters and fascinating underwater features and mysteries lurking within. This afternoon, we spend some time in Mackinaw City with shopping and lunch on our own. We finish our trip with a dinner stop on our own en route before returning home.
