Sample Itinerary: 

Day 1: One of our most unique and creative tours in our 40 year history. More than 200 years after Washington Irving wrote “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, the valley and surrounding countryside continue to cast a spell over locals and visitors alike. Driving through Pennsylvania, we’ll visit Bill’s Bike Barn. View over 200 amazing vintage motorcycles, Americana memorabilia, and extraordinary antiques from all around the world! Overnight is Scranton, PA at the Radisson Lackawanna Stanton Hotel. With French Renaissance—style architecture and modern amenities, the historic charm of the Radisson is a wonderful way to start our tour. 

Day 2: Arriving in the beautiful Hudson River Valley, visit lovely Millbrook Winery for a tour, tasting, and included box lunch. Next visit the FDR Presidential Library & Museum and learn about FDR, Eleanor Roosevelt, the New Deal, and World War II. The museum features special exhibits, audio-visual theatres and rarely seen artifacts that convey the dramatic story of the Roosevelt era. Later this afternoon it’s the “CIA Experience” at the Culinary Institute of America. In a classroom setting, two students take us through an experience and talk about life on campus at the premier culinary college in the world. Our day concludes with an upscale dinner at Shadows on the Hudson, overlooking the Hudson River. Overnight at Hyatt House in Fishkill, NY for (3) nights. 

Day 3: Board the Rip Van Winkle for a late morning boat cruise on the Hudson River. Next, tour Kykuit—The Rockefeller Estate. Now a historic site, this extraordinary landmark is the area’s #1 cultural attraction. Dinner is on your own in the quaint town of Tarrytown, NY. Tonight will be incredible at The Great Pumpkin Blaze. Stroll through an 18th century landscape and discover a breathtaking display of more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’lanterns—all designed and hand carved on site by a team of local artisans. A truly festive after-dark Halloween experience. 

Day 4: Explore Lyndhurst Mansion, a majestic estate on the banks of the Hudson River, where we experience firsthand an American icon of architecture and landscape. This afternoon tour Philipsburg Manor, a mill and trading complex where an enslaved community lived and labored for generations. A casual dinner is included at a popular local diner. Tonight, witness The Legend of Sleepy Hollow like never before. Performed outdoors at Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, master storyteller Jonathan Kruk will cast a spell with a dramatic performance of the classic tale. Live music and an appearance from the Headless Horseman make this a spooky spectacular! 

Day 5: Tour Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site. Visit the nation's first publicly owned historic site and tour the rooms where American history was make. The afternoon visit the Steamtown National Historic Site and learn about the history of steam railroad transportation, and the people who built, repaired and rode, as they work to preserve a special era in America’s industrial history. A short ride on the rails is also included. Overnight in Scranton, PA. Casual dinner included. 

Day 6: Visit the Houdini Museum & Magic Show. A guided tour is included, plus a video he made in 1918 and a magic show by Dorothy Dietrich and Dick Brookz, American magic royalty. Late morning continue homeward.
